Samsung has quietly expanded its affordable smartphone lineup in India with three new models — the Galaxy A08, Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08. While all three phones share a similar hardware foundation, Samsung is targeting different segments of budget-conscious buyers through its A, M and F series.

The Galaxy A08 is already available for purchase in India, while the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 have been listed as “coming soon.” Samsung has not yet revealed the prices or exact sale dates for the latter two models.

Interestingly, Samsung has focused on battery life, everyday performance and long-term software support rather than bringing 5G connectivity to these phones. All three smartphones use the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor and support 4G networks.

Samsung Galaxy A08 Price in India

The Samsung Galaxy A08 has been launched in India at Rs 18,499 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.

The smartphone is available in three colour options:

  • Dark Blue
  • Silver
  • Green

The Galaxy A08 can be purchased through Samsung’s online store, Samsung exclusive stores, partner retail outlets and other online platforms. Eligible customers can also take advantage of zero-interest EMI options on supported payment methods.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 are currently listed with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, but Samsung has not yet announced their prices, colours or official sale dates.

For comparison, the previous-generation Galaxy M07 and Galaxy F07 were launched in October 2025 at Rs 6,999 and Rs 7,699, respectively. However, the prices of the new models could be different.

Samsung Galaxy A08, M08 and F08 Specifications

The three smartphones share several hardware similarities, making them relatively easy to compare.

6.7-inch Display

The Galaxy A08 comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD display supporting a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy M08 and F08 listings mention a 720 x 1600-pixel resolution, although Samsung has not yet confirmed their refresh-rate specifications.

The large screen should be comfortable for watching YouTube videos, browsing social media and using everyday apps. However, buyers looking for sharper visuals may find the HD+ resolution less impressive compared with Full HD+ displays offered by some competitors in this price segment.

MediaTek Helio G99+ Processor

Under the hood, the Galaxy A08, M08 and F08 are powered by the MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset.

The processor is paired with:

  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage
  • microSD card support
  • Up to 2TB expandable storage

For normal activities such as WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, web browsing and light multitasking, the hardware should be adequate.

However, these phones are not primarily designed for demanding gaming. Users running graphics-intensive games or heavily multitasking between multiple applications may notice the limitations of the chipset and 4GB RAM configuration.

50MP Camera Setup

Samsung has equipped the three smartphones with a 50MP primary rear camera.

The camera setup includes:

  • 50MP main camera
  • 2MP secondary camera
  • 8MP front camera

The 50MP sensor should be capable of producing detailed images in good lighting conditions. The 8MP front camera is designed for selfies and video calls.

As with most budget smartphones, camera performance will depend heavily on lighting conditions and Samsung’s image-processing software.

6000mAh Battery and 25W Charging

One of the biggest highlights of the new Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 is their 6,000mAh battery.

Samsung has also equipped the lineup with support for 25W charging. However, the charging adapter is sold separately, meaning buyers may need to purchase a compatible charger if they don’t already own one.

The large battery could make these phones particularly appealing to users who prioritise endurance and don’t want to charge their smartphone multiple times during the day.

The M08 and F08 weigh around 197 grams and measure approximately 8mm in thickness. The Galaxy A08 additionally gets an IP64 rating, providing protection against dust and water splashes.

Six Years of Software Updates

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Samsung’s new budget phones is their software-support promise.

The Galaxy A08, M08 and F08 are set to receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

That is a significant consideration for buyers who intend to keep their smartphone for several years rather than upgrading frequently.

Samsung has also included features such as Circle to Search, Quick Share and Knox security tools, adding several of the company’s software features to the affordable segment.

Should You Wait for the Galaxy M08 and F08?

The Galaxy M08 and F08 could become interesting options for budget buyers, but their final pricing will be crucial.

Samsung has not yet revealed how much the two phones will cost in India. Since the previous-generation M07 and F07 were positioned at significantly lower prices, buyers should wait for official pricing before deciding whether the new models offer strong value.

The Galaxy A08, meanwhile, is already available at Rs 18,499 for the 4GB + 64GB model.

The lack of 5G may also matter to buyers who want longer-term network compatibility. However, for users who mainly need a large display, dependable battery life, basic cameras and long software support, the new Galaxy lineup offers a straightforward package.

Samsung’s new Galaxy A08, Galaxy M08 and Galaxy F08 focus on the fundamentals: a large display, 50MP camera, MediaTek Helio G99+ processor, expandable storage and a large battery.

The six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates are arguably the biggest differentiator, especially for buyers who plan to use their phone for several years.

The Galaxy A08 is already on sale, while the Galaxy M08 and F08 remain listed as coming soon. Once Samsung announces their prices and sale dates, it will become much easier to determine how aggressively the three models are positioned against other budget smartphones in India.
